On the 16th of January, PPW members and guests met at the Amsterdam Marriott hotel to participate in the networking workshop by Charles D.A. Ruffolo – MPA, former American soldier and founder of The NetworKing BV. and to celebrate the beginning of the New Year.
This workshop, together with networking drinks, was our first meeting in 2020!
Charles D.A. Ruffolo gave us a great and energetic workshop, where many of us had the opportunity to speak up in front of the group. Charles organized an exercise where we had to exchange information with each other and thanks to that we brought theory into practice.
Open-minded and very energetic, Charles explained to us that any human interaction is networking. Knowing just a few details about a person – you already have a reason to start a conversation and get to know each other better. We learned about the importance of staying curious about each other, asking questions and being a good listener.
No wonder why Charles knows Barack Obama or Bill Clinton – thanks to his skills he knew how to use his connections to get to the people that he’s interested in.
Interestingly, don’t let the name of our organization mislead you, our open for guests meetings are open to men as well, and this event proved it!
After the workshop, during the networking drinks, we were joined by a group of 3rd year bachelor students from Amsterdam Business School (University of Amsterdam). They interviewd some of our members and guests as part of their Course on Intercultural Skills.
