One multidimensional evening – two meetings: Members’ Only & The Future of Innovation
On the 28th of February, the Poles around the world celebrated Fat Thursday. Also in Amsterdam, we did not forget to cater Polish (and Limburgian) donuts to our participants! Next to great traditional pastry, our society prepared exciting and informative meetings for that evening.
Members’ Only meeting focused on 2018 achievements, our financial balance and saying goodbye to Daria Kanters, who was the PPW Chairwoman 2018-2019. It was a good occasion for our members to stand still and reflect on last year, new changes for 2019 and to get to know our new Commission Members.
Half an hour later, the fascinating presentation by Michael J. Dawkins, The Future of Innovation”, followed. Mr. Dawkins introduced the concept of SingularityU, its programs and continued on the technological developments, innovations, AI and challenges of today and tomorrow. This interactive part of the evening raised many questions and sometimes even the feeling of uncertainty about the future among participants but was quickly filled by inventive solutions and points of consideration. Not only educative but also pleasant view of the future ended with networking drinks and even more discussions on the mystery, superlatives and risks linked to Artificial Intelligence development.
