On 13th of April we will host a workshop “The added Value of Women Leadership & Tools to Women’s Empowerment and Leadership.”

This workshop is recommended to everyone who wants to:

1) discuss the meaning of women leadership in contemporary professional context;
2) get inspired as female leaders to tap into their leadership potential  through understanding how to address barriers and seize opportunities.

Through interactive short presentations and facilitated group discussions illustrated with examples and narratives as well as practicing some simple tools and techniques.

Program

The first part of the workshop facilitated by Katarzyna Czabanowska will concentrate on the understanding and meaning of leadership for women in their professional practices and what it involves to lead in culture diverse environment. The discussion will be centered around specific qualities and added value of women based on personal examples and stories.

The second part led by Valia Kalaitzi will be focused on barriers which women encounter in reaching top leadership positions, tools of addressing them and secrets of navigating change for women empowerment.

Katarzyna Czabanowska, MA, PhD is an Associate Professor at the International Health Department, Maastricht University, the Netherlands. She directs Governance and Leadership in European Public Health programme. Her research focus is on public health workforce development in Europe, public health leadership, women leadership in health care and competence-based education. She has many international publications on leadership. She holds honorary positions at Jagiellonian University Medical College, Krakow, Poland and the University of Sheffield and the IU Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, Indiana, the US. She is a President Elect of the Association of the Schools of Public Health in European Region (ASPHER), Chair of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA) Working Group on Public Health Leadership and a winner of the Polish Person 2015 in the Netherlands Award in the category Science and Technique.

Valia Kalaitzi, is a PhD Candidate at the International Health Department, Maastricht University, The Netherlands with educational background in International Management. Her research is about women leadership in health care, gender equality, inclusion and equal opportunities in recruitment, education and training of health professionals. She is a consultant in the areas of women’s entrepreneurial development, economic empowerment and leadership. She has more than 20 years of professional experience in health training programs, public health and medical projects and publishing.

From Amsterdam Centraal railway station: Take tram 1, 2 or 5 and exit at Leidsesquare. Continue by foot towards the Vondelpark. Directly next to the Vondelpark, opposite Holland Casino, you will find Park Hotel on the corner.

From Amsterdam Zuid railway station: Take tram 5 in the direction of Central Station. Exit at the Hobbemastraat and just follow the trams tracks on foot. Park Hotel Amsterdam is located on the right-hand corner.
