On the 6th February 2018 at the Student Hotel in Amsterdam, Polish Professional Women hosted a Masterclass: „My Fit Brain” with Daphne Feller from BrainExplainers and convened an Extraordinary General Assembly of PPW.
Board needs strengthening. Society needs freshness, which always accompanies the joining of a new person to the board. The new member of the board for Operations is Agata Michalaszek-Geerdink.
Agata will take over tasks related to the Operations from Monika Boomgaard. According to the statute, the members elected the board member by voting. The board increased the number of people from 5 to 6.
After the Extraordinary General Assembly of PPW took place our workshop.
Daphne Feller, who is a certified mindfulness trainer talked about brain and mindset. She explained to us: “How can we influence our level of happiness and success”.
She works with the latest neuroscientific insights and researched how to bridge the gap between the employee engagement and neuroscience. Her purpose is to create positive work environments by improving employee engagement. Her statement is: “Mindset is key. The happiness and success of your life depend on the quality of your thoughts”.
Daphne talked about, how to become more resistant to stress and to enable yourself to optimize our brainpower and peak performance, how we can improve the functions of our brains, how do we develop our full potential.
We looked into the following subjects:
- How does the brain work?
- What is stress? Reframe stress to make it work for you.
- How do you foster healthy thinking habits to boost efficiency?
- Which conditions are the most conducive to brain development that will optimize your performance?
What can we do to boost our brainpower?
- Sleep
- Meditation
- Sport
- Learning new things
- Don’t multi-task
Daphne explained to us the effects of stress hormones on brain function. How lack of sleep, the chronic stress-effect can damage the brain. Your brain is your main tool because it determines your success and creates your happiness. It’s time to think about yourself, change your habits, take care of your brain work.
